Luitzen Egbertus Jan Brouwer (27 February 1881 – 2 December 1966), was an influential Dutch mathematician and philosopher, who worked in topology, set theory, measure theory and complex analysis. In 2016, it is fifty years ago that L.E.J. Brouwer died as a consequence of a traffic accident. Various activities will be devoted to the work of L.E.J. Brouwer and his influence on current research in mathematics, philosophy and theoretical computer science.
