The Koninklijk Wiskundig Genootschap, the Belgian Mathematical Society and the Luxembourg Mathematical Society jointly organized the BeNeLuxMC 2016 at the Science Park in Amsterdam. This congress incorporated the 52nd Nederlands Mathematisch Congres. The local organization was in the hands of a team of mathematicians from the University of Amsterdam, the Centrum Wiskunde en Informatica and the Vrije Universiteit.

The De Bruijn prize, established in honor of N.G. de Bruijn has been awarded for the first time in 2016. The prize winner, Marius Crainic, gave a semi-plenary lecture at the conference.
There was an exciting evening program on March 22 at the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen, including public lectures by Marcus du Sautoy and Ionica Smeets. These lectures were open to the general public, and are included for participants of the conference.
